What are the symptoms of COVID 19?

Two to fourteen days following exposure, COVID-19 symptoms and signs may manifest. Even if you don’t yet have symptoms, COVID-19 can still spread (presymptomatic transmission). Typical warning signs and symptoms include:

  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Tiredness

A loss of taste or smell may be one of the first signs of COVID-19.

Additional signs can include:

  • respiratory issues or shortness of breath
  • Muscle aches
  • Chills
  • unwell throat
  • clogged nose
  • Headache
  • chest pain
  • Red eye
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhoea
  • Rash

This is not an exhaustive list. Children typically have mild illnesses and share adult-like symptoms.

From mild to severe, COVID-19 symptoms can range in severity. Some people may not even exhibit any symptoms, but they can still spread it (asymptomatic transmission). Around a week after symptoms first appear, some patients may suffer increased symptoms, such as worsened shortness of breath and pneumonia.

After being diagnosed with COVID-19, some persons continue to exhibit symptoms for over four weeks. Sometimes these medical disorders are referred to as post-COVID-19 conditions. Several weeks after receiving COVID-19, some kids develop the multi-system inflammatory syndrome, a disease that can impact several organs and tissues. Rarely, the syndrome also affects some adults.

The chance of developing a major illness from COVID-19 rises with age in older people. Existing medical issues may increase a person’s risk of developing a serious illness. The following medical problems may raise the chance of developing a major illness from COVID-19:

  • Cardiac failure, coronary artery disease, and cardiomyopathy are all serious heart illnesses.
  • Obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) (COPD)
  • Diabetes type 1 or diabetes type 2
  • Obesity, whether mild or severe
  • High bp
  • Smoking
  • Chronic kidney illness
  • Thalassemia (Sickle Cell Disease)
  • Asthma
  • Cystic fibrosis and pulmonary hypertension are examples of chronic lung illnesses.
  • A disease of the Liver
